I had a dream, and in it, God spoke to me: “Pack your luggage for I am sending you to Africa”.
It was the year 2002 when I obeyed that call and set foot in Ghana. I arrived in Accra, and soon found myself in Tema Kita Kita, near the border of Togo.
What I saw there changed me forever. Everywhere I looked, I saw children — beautiful, bright-eyed children — suffering in silence. They were hungry, thirsty, barefoot… their laughter dimmed by need. My heart broke in ways I cannot describe. In that moment, I turned to God and prayed, “Lord, please, do not let me return to Africa empty-handed.”
